Rosewood
This historic house was commissioned by J.C. Chapin to be built, completed in 1886. It gained the name "Rosewood" due to the use of burled heart pine throughout it's interior. The house was moved to its current location in the historic Duck Pond neighborhood of downtown Gainesville in the late 1900s*. The top floor was burnt down in 2022, rebuilt and refurbished by fall of 2023, and soon after Good Moon Tattoo made this dear old house into a non-porous tattoo environment, established November 2023.
Parking
There is a small parking lot located just south of the house (if you are facing the house from the street, the parking lot is to the left of the house). Please do not park in the painted lines/majority of the lot next to Rosewood. Those are the towing spots.
There are five spots that belong to Rosewood, located against the fence closest to the house (marked with a red square and arrow in the photo). Two cars maximum can parallel park on the street directly in front of the stained glass front doors. Just north of the house is a one-way street that has a limited amount of parking. Please park closely and courteously
